Book Review WEEP, WOMAN, WEEP Maria DeBlassie

Thank you to the author Maria DeBlassie, publishers Kitchen Witch Press, and Henry Roi PR, for an advance digital copy of WEEP, WOMAN, WEEP. All views are mine. This novella is magical. What a fantastic piece of writing. The technique is solid and DeBlassie's voice is addictive. All she needs is a killer story, and she's got that, too. Here's an early sweet Halloween treat. Three (or more) things I loved: 1. The way DeBlassie utilizes her time element is so creative and feeds into the sort of chaotic feel of this piece. We have a narrator more than willing to say, Here we are in the story, no wait I didn't tell you about this yet, oh yeah that thing back there, I lied about that, here's what really happened. This adds so much to the shape of the narrative, and it also brings me to the next thing I love about this novella, down below. 2. Such a fresh,creative, fun execution of the unreliable narrator! Book Review THORNHEDGE T Kingfisher

Thank you to the author T Kingfisher, publishers Tor Books, and NetGalley for an advance audio copy of ᴛʜᴏʀɴʜᴇᴅɢᴇ. All views are mine. Three (or more) things I loved: 1. I connected to the idea of "The Greenteeth," magical folk who are both skilled and queer, who keep themselves to themselves and according to their own and not that of the "civilized world." 2. I love characters that have a hard time. Antiheros and unlikeable characters are the best. But I have speciaI love for underdogs. Both of the main characters in the book, the main character, Toadling, and her "knight" figure, are hard luck babies. Toadling...well, she's named Toadling, so that's a start. And her knight is a hapless, unsuccessful, third in line prince with very little confidence. They help each other throughout the book, and grow equally (despite what this means for cgaracter diversity). 3. This story includes some beautiful and important themes, like even outsider...
